Small dinosaur ‘hunted like cat’

A collaboration between Canadian and Chinese palaeontologists has postulated that a Cretaceous carnivorous dinosaur may have  used guile and agility to target flying reptiles and birds as prey.

They discovered multiple examples of a species of bird in the stomach of one individual, perhaps enough evidence to discount the theory that these particular dinosaurs were primarily scavengers.

Sinocalliopteryx was a Compsognathid dinosaur measuring up to 2m tall – the specimens studied were discovered in China
