In 1815 William Smith published ‘The Map that Changed the World’, and ever since scientists and amateur observers have been fascinated by our planet and the forces that shape it. Lots of hands-on activities. The streets and the Marine Theatre will be buzzing with artists and performers, and The Hub will host a full programme of talks. Rockwatch will be there with dioramas and fossil identification amongst other things.
Rockwathchers Special Event: There will be a special private event associated with the Smith Map Bicentenary for Rockwatch members (over 7s) in the Museum on Saturday 2 from 5.30 – 6.30, after it has closed to the public. Free to members but you must register with the Rockwatch office as there is a number limit.
