Dinosaur Wind Tunnel Test Provides New Insight Into the Evolution of Bird Flight
18th September, 2013
Analysis using an anatomically correct microraptor model in a wind tunnel has given new insight into the early stages of the development of flight in feathered dinosaurs.
The morphology of the species suggests that forelimb-dominated bird flight passed through a four-wing phase, the configuration of which gives the greatest stability and the longest flight length whilst gliding.
